Kingdom Come: Deliverance – Royal Edition on PS4 now speaks Czech, Japanese and of course English, German and French.

To celebrate 5 years of the game, two independent dubs of Japanese and Czech have been created.

Unfortunately, the publisher decided not to support any consoles (only PC) with these translations, as it would have been difficult to implement. Well, believe me, it wasn’t that difficult 😉

For the first time we also have the opportunity to play the game with subtitles in Ukrainian, Portuguese and Korean. KDC Royal edition contains all DLC including subtitles/speech for them.

Version 1.05 has added packages from the Steam (PC) edition, the whole thing works (so far) only on FW 9.00. However as a proof of concept it works fine. So it’s kind of a merge of two releases.

A nice example of community funding is for the Czech dubbing but the Japanese version must have cost the local distributor some money too… It’s a pity that it didn’t make it officially to consoles.

The biggest dilemma was which version to modify. CUSA09682’s latest version 1.19 can’t display Korean, so the decision was made to go with CUSA15436 1.05, which can display Korean. However, we don’t have a trainer and I don’t know how to backport to 5.05. Royal Edition/1.04 and Classic/1.19 can do all languages except Korean. 1.04 has a trainer and there is a backport. So maybe someone can make this edition. But it’s probably easier to make a trainer and maybe someone will make a backport for this 1.05

In case anyone is interested, the new audio files are recompiled due to the file size going from 88-60kbit/s to 48kbit/s like all the other original files. So there was no need to split the zip (pak files) into two parts.

It was practically enough to copy and rename the files from the steam location to fpkg folder. For intro video it was necessary to change the file name and add languages in orbis_language.cfg.
